BIOMECHANICS RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION
************************************************** *******************

The United States Olympic Committee has two one-year Research Assistant
positions open in Biomechanics for the period of Sept. 1998 - Sept. 1999.

Primary Duties Include: (1) Providing services to athletes and coaches,
including motion capture with qualitative and quantitative 2-D and 3-D
kinematic analyses, sport-specific kinetic studies, and timing analyses,
(2) participating in research & development projects aimed at answering
critical questions of sport, and (3) educating athletes and coaches through
seminars and data feedback sessions.

Qualifications: MS in Biomechanics or closely related field. Working
knowledge of biomechanics (coursework or work experience in
mechanics/dynamics); knowledge of the principles of motion analysis;
experience with common biomechanics data collection systems preferred
(e.g., motion capture systems, force plates, EMG, other); computer
programming and/or computer modeling experience preferred; good
communication/ presentation skills; ability to work with and relate to
people with varying backgrounds and disciplines.

Salary: $17,800 per year plus employee benefits
