W H A T ' S H A P P E N I N G ?? W E ' D L I K E T O K N O W !!

TECHNOLOGY STUDIES (TS) is a new multidisciplinary journal published by
Walter de Gruyter (Berlin & New York), scheduled to appear in 1993.
TS aims to promote an understanding of technology implementation and work
organization as they are relevant to technological adaptation. In this
journal, we want to publish a section on News, Notes and Events as
outlined below.

We welcome your help in submitting items to be published that might
be of interest to our readers.


[A FIRST ISSUE OF TS - 1993

The Notes and Events Section of TS is being planned to have
the following contents grouped into individual subsections.
The title of each subsection is capitalized.

1) FUTURE CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOP schedule: The items will
be grouped by years, months and chronologically ordered
according to dates. The details of each item will
contain conference title, date and location, organizer,
theme, and contact address and telephone, etc.

2) SOCIETY NEWS: It will contain brief description of any
old/new society in existence and relevance of the readers
of TS. It may also include extraordinary announcements
such as election results, change of structure, location
or new ventures.

3) Brief TECHNOLOGY NOTES: It will report briefly major
technological innovations or research results announced
by institutions. Editors, Readers and Corporations will
be encouraged to submit their announcements but inclusion
of items will be up to the editor of the News and Notes
in consultation with the Editor-in-chief. Limit: 200
words.

4) Brief CONFERENCE REPORTS: Past conferences can be
reported briefly highlighting the outstanding and unique
features of interest to TS community. All submissions
must accompanied by three names who can be contacted for
verification of all claims. Limit: 400 words.

5) WORK IN PROGRESS: Researchers can submit accounts of
research works in progress, names and addresses of
collaborators, institutions and funding agency involved.
Limit: 200 words.


If you have any thing that you would like to submit for the NEWS,
NOTES and EVENTS Section of the Journal, please bear in mind that
the first issue will appear in 1993 and try to keep all entries dated
accordingly and as up-to-date as possible.
