Dear Biomch-L readers,

During the past 1 - 2 years, I have been cross-posting interesting UMI
(University MicroFilms International, Ann Arbor, MI/USA) Dissertation
Abstracts from the AIMED list. Yesterday, I had a chance to browse
through the UMI Dissertations Abstracts International (DAI) database,
and I have retrieved, by way of example, the 25 first items found with
the keyword BIOMEC (for Biomechanique, Biomechanics, Biomechanich,
Biomechanist, Biomechanical, etc.) from a total of 136 hits for the
period 1985 - 1988.

These 25 items have been stored in file SAMPLE25 UMI BIOMCH-L (PRV clas-
sification, i.e., for Biomch-L subscribers only), together with ordering
information for these dissertations in paper or microfiche format; they
can be retrieved with the standard command to ListServ@hearn.bitnet or
to ListServ@nic.SURFnet.NL,

SEND SAMPLE25 UMI BIOMCH-L

if sent from a subscription address.

I would be delighted if someone of the Biomch-L readership would be interested
to regularly scan the UMI database (which is available both on ROMs and via
on-line dial-up -- at a cost), and cross-post items in the Biomechanics and
Movement Science field to Biomch-L. Any candidates out there to pursue this?

I think that this might be easiest for a subscriber on the North-American
continent, following consultation with his/her librarians.

Looking forward to positive reactions,
