Grabrail Design and the Sit-stand-sit Movement:
Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) 3-Year Ph.D. Scholarship

The purpose of this project is to investigate the effect of grabrail
placement on the performance of the sit-stand-sit movement by able-bodied
and movement-impaired individuals.

The project will give the candidate a thorough grounding in quantitative
research methods, management of a research project and working in a
research team. It will also give the candidate experience in interaction
with industries relevant to the candidates possible future employment in a
university, rehabilitation or ergonomics industry.

The applicant must have a research-based honours degree , masters degree
(by research) or equivalent research experience in a relevant discipline to
be eligible for doctoral studies within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The applicant must have good communication skills.

The Ph.D. scholarship is for 3 years with the possibility of a six month
extension subject to need and the availability of funding. The APAI award
is $20,502 per year and generous removal, travel and thesis expenses.

The applicant must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
