Assistant Bioengineer. Gait Analysis
One year fixed term contract

An Assistant Bioengineer is required within the fast expanding Gait
Analysis facility at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. The laboratory
undertakes clinical assessments of predominately Cerebral Palsy children
using state of the art motion analysis equipment. The current staff of
bioengineers and physiotherapists are also undertaking a series of first
class research projects, funded by grant giving bodies and external private
companies. The results of these projects will be disseminated at major
conferences as well as in full journal papers. The successful candidate
would be required to assist in the daily clinical activities of the
laboratory as well as taking an active role in research projects and would
be encouraged to develop a personal research portfolio within the gait
analysis facility.

The applicant should have a first degree in a mechanical engineering /
physics related discipline, preferably with a masters with a biomechanical
bias. A strong research interest and an in-depth knowledge of Visual Basic
5.0 programming would be a distinct advantage. Closing date for
