We seek a postdoctoral research associate to work on studies addressing
movement dynamics and control in normal and hemiparetic stroke

These studies will be performed in the Sensory Motor Performance
Program (SMPP), a multidisciplinary research laboratory located in the
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Members of the SMPP do basic
research in areas related to muscle skeletal and neurological diseases
which may affect human movement control.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in mechanical, biomedical or
related engineering discipline, and a strong background in biomechanics
and system identification techniques. The planned research involves
the static and dynamic analysis and modeling of multijoint limb
movements following hemiparetic stroke. The applicant also has the
possibility to get involved in ongoing projects in functional brain
imaging. Finally, the applicant will be able to benefit from mentorship
of Dr. Julius Dewald, a Neuroscientist and Clinician and Dr. Sandro
Mussa-Ivaldi, a Biomedical Engineer.
