Applied BioDynamics Laboratory, Dept of Biomedical Engineering

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral appointment in the Applied
BioDynamics Laboratory (ABL), which is directed by Jim Collins, in the
Department of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University. The mission of
the ABL is to develop and implement techniques and concepts from nonlinear
dynamics and statistical physics to characterize and improve the function
of various physiological systems. Specific topics of interest include:
human posture control, noise-enhanced sensory function, cardiac
defibrillation, gene regulatory and cell signaling networks, and networks
of coupled nonlinear oscillators. The ABL is part of the Center for
BioDynamics, which is a multidisciplinary and interdepartmental research
and training center that focuses on nonlinear dynamics and its applications
in biology and engineering.

We are seeking a candidate with an experimental background and
interest/expertise in human posture control and/or tactile psychophysical
testing. Ideally, the candidate will have a Ph.D. in biomedical
engineering, biomechanics, neurophysiology, or related field.

Interested candidates should send a curriculum vitae and a brief cover
letter describing their research interests to Prof. Jim Collins at
jcollins@enga.bu.edu. For more information on the Applied BioDynamics
Laboratory or the Center for BioDynamics, please visit our website at
