************** SECOND POSTING *******************

The Executive Committee of the Biomechanics Interest Group (BIG) of the
American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) invites submission of
biomechanics-related programming ideas for the year 2000 ACSM Annual
Meeting. A voluntary and revised pilot process is being used to initiate
biomechanics-related program planning for ACSM 2000. (The year 2000 Annual
Meeting of the ACSM is in Indianapolis, IN USA from May 31 - June 3,
2000.)

The revised programming process is being explored to:

* Continually improve the quality of biomechanics programming at the
national meeting of the ACSM
* Increase member and non-member participation in the program planning
process
* Improve the effectiveness of the program planning process

Participation in this revised process is voluntary and will not affect a
proposal's review by either the BIG or the program committee of ACSM.

Individuals interested in developing program sessions or proposing ideas
for programming content are encouraged to submit their ideas to the
Biomechanics Interest Group. The session outlines and program ideas will
be posted on the BIG web site for review by the biomechanics community. It
is hoped that members and attendees will review all submitted items prior
to the 1999 national meeting of the ACSM (June 2-5, 1999 in Seattle, WA).
A portion of the BIG meeting in 1999 will be devoted to discussion of the
proposed programming and planning of meeting content for ACSM 2000.

Please see the Biomechanics Interest Group's web site at

for details on submitting program sessions or ideas.

Sincerely,

Michael Feltner, Ph.D, FACSM
