MOVEMENT AND HEALTH
September 11-14, 1999

International Conference
organized by Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacky University in
Olomouc, Czech Republic

THE AIM OF THE CONFERENCE
In the period of European integration to organise a meeting of
experts from various countries, interested in the problematics of
many aspects of physical activities and health. To deepen special
knowledge and friendly personal contacts among the conference
participants. To exchange information dealing with historical
development of science and practice, current status and perspectives
of the relation to movement and health.

THE MAIN TOPICS
1. Biomedical aspects of movement and health.
2. Philosophical and historical aspects of movement and health.
3. Socio-psychological aspects of movement and health.
4. Motor competence and motor learning in relation to movement and
health.

APPLIED DOMAINS
- prevention, movement therapy and social aspects of motor activities,
- physiology and pathology of exercise,
- functional anthropology and somatodiagnostics of motor system,
- human biomechanics, motor and movement diagnostics,
- adapted physical activity,
- teacher-student interaction.

TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS
ORAL:
invited key lectures 30 min;
presentations 10 min: brief information dealing with results of
research projects, running research studies and/or dealing with
methodological approaches.

POSTERS (size: height 120 cm, width 90 cm):
results of partial scientific investigations presented in an
attractive visual form. Poster presentation has to be in one of the
official conference languages. Personal presence and explanation
within determined time is included in the poster presentation.

ROUND TABLES:
discussion within the framework of the proclaimed applied topics.

VIDEOPRESENTATIONS:
information dealing with research findings, used methods and
techniques, running scientific programmes. The length of video-
presentation up to 20 min followed by 10 min discussion.

EXHIBITION OF TEXTBOOKS, STUDY MATERIALS
of participants as (co)authors and/or their institutions.

Official languages: Czech, Slovak and English.

Presented studies will be published in the Conference Proceedings in
the language of presentation with a summary in the second official
language.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMME
During the conference a rich social and cultural programme will be
offered to the participants and accompanying persons, together with
pre- and post-conference programmes.
Daily Sports Activities are offered during the conference free-time:
jogging, body-building, swimming, racquet sports, sauna as well as
informal matches for keens on team sports (basketball-volleyball).
A special trip (tracing the life and history of J. A. Commenius) will
lead participants to the picturesque countryside of Olomouc.
Pre- and post-conference programme can take the participants for
folklore and historical sightseeing across the Moravian Region.

ABSTRACTS
1. Authors may submit their abstract ONLY IN ENGLISH.
2. The abstract must highlight the following categories: scientific
issue, main aim, methods used, summary of results, conclusions.
3. The abstract must be typed using Word95 or 97, Times New Roman 12
size letters, 1 space row. Length - one page (A4, left, right,
bottom and top margins 2.5 cm).
4. The heading of the abstract must include:
- the title (with capital letters),
- the surname/s (with capital letters) and first name/s of
author/s,
- author/s institution,
- city and country.
5. Three camera ready copies are required for blind assessment. The
deadline for sending abstract - March 15th, 1999.
