THE MOTION ANALYSIS LABORATORY, CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, SAN DIEGO
Is proud to announce the
Eleventh Annual ELECTROMYOGRAPHY: FINE-WIRE TECHNIQUE course
October 22-23, 1999
and
The Sixteenth Annual INTERPRETATION OF GAIT ANALYSIS DATA course
October 25-28, 1999

INTERPRETATION OF GAIT ANALYSIS DATA: COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES
This 3-1/2 day multidisciplinary course is designed for physicians,
engineers, physical therapists, and kinesiologists. The course consists
of a series of lectures and small group laboratories focusing on the
interpretation of clinical pediatric and adult gait data. Participants
will be exposed to the decision- making processes used for determining
clinical recommendations in pathological gait analysis. Data will be
reviewed from primary gait laboratory systems: kinematics, kinetics and
dynamic electromyography (EMG).

Each laboratory session is designed to enable participants to personally
interpret gait data.

At the conclusion of this course, the participants will be able to
evaluate and interpret data from selected pathologic cases and plan for
appropriate treatment options.

ELECTROMYOGRAPHY: FINE-WIRE TECHNIQUE: COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES
This unique 2-day course is designed for physicians and physical
therapists interested in learning proper insertion techniques in
fine-wire electromyography.
The course will provide:
Hands-on experience in fine wire electrode insertion
An introduction to EMG instrumentation and its use
Review of cross-sectional and surface anatomy for accuracy in electrode
placement
Review of muscle and nerve physiology as it relates to electromyography

CME ACCREDITATION
The Children's Hospital and Health Center is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for continuing Medical Education to sponsor
continuing medical education for physicians. This is an approved program
for Continuing Medical Education. Physicians may report up to 28 hours
of formal Category 1 credit for attending the Interpretation of Gait
Analysis course and up to 16 hours for the Electromyography course,
towards the California Medical Association Certificate in continuing
medical education and the American Medical Association Physician
Recognition Award.
