ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY POSITION OPENING
Willamette University, Salem, Oregon, USA


ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN EXERCISE SCIENCE, tenure-track beginning in August
2000. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in
Biomechanics and other science-based theory courses in the Department of
Exercise Science. Scholarly activities involve seeking internal and
external funding for undergraduate and other research projects; writing,
presenting and publishing professionally. Service aspects include student
advising and active involvement in professional associations as well as
university and community programs.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Exercise Science; demonstrated teaching
effectiveness in Biomechanics and associated areas of Exercise Science
(Motor Learning, Human Anatomy, Research Design, Statistical Analysis);
evidence of scholarly and professional activity, demonstrated writing
skills. Desirable qualifications: experience working with undergraduate
students, particularly in a Liberal Arts environment; interest in
developing interdisciplinary and/or collaborative teaching and research;
additional certifications/credentials (ACSM, NATABOC, CSCS, APTA).

Salary is competitive. Review of applicants begins December 10, 1999.
