Hello,

try this out:

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/medical-image-faq/volume-visualization/

By the way we have used Amira, it is software programed by the Technical University of Berlin, there is a free download of the Betac version on there homepage:

http://amira.zib.de/

As I said Amira is for free and very user-friendly, but it is "only" a Beta version. We have had some problems finding the right filters.

My own experience is (but this depends on what materials you want to segment), that there is no full-automatic way to do this stuff.

If you do not want to install a new software, there is a plug-in for Adobe, in order to make Photoshop capable of importing DICOM-Format.....

My best regards,

happy segmenting,

Erik Forster
