Position: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track: Engineering Applications
in Human Neurologic Injury Research

Northwestern University Medical School's Department of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation seeks an Assistant Professor for study of
the mechanisms of motor impairment in brain and/or spinal cord injured
persons. The position will be offered in the tenure track. Salary is

Applicants will be expected to hold an earned doctorate in Biomedical
Engineering or another engineering discipline, or in
Neuroscience/Neurophysiology. Applicants are expected to have a
successful record of research, including extramural grant acquisition
and publication in high quality peer-reviewed journals. Prior
experience with research in human subjects is required, and
postdoctoral training is preferred.

Research is to be centered in the Sensory Motor Performance Program of
the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, a multidisciplinary
engineering and neuroscience laboratory focusing on studies of motor
dysfunction in neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders. The faculty
member will be expected to establish a distinguished research program
and contribute to the teaching of graduate and undergraduate students
in several university graduate programs.
