Hi All:

I am new to this newsgroup so excuse any lack of protocol. I am a consulting
engineer doing a study for a manufacturer of therapeutic bed surfaces to
inhibit bed sores, etc. I have been asked to quantify the interface pressure of various body types
on their various bed surfaces and map that information graphically.

Are any of you aware of any standard methods of accomplishing this, such as
a measuring standard or protocol? Are there any pieces of instrumentation or
vendors that you might recommend for this interface pressure measurement. I
understand there are several technologies that are used such as the
thermography method, pressure bulb method, strain gage method, capacitive
pressure sensor method, laser Dopler flowmetry, etc.

I am wanting to use the industry standard or accepted "state of the art" methodology,
as I will be publishing the results.

Thanks in advance for any help.
