POSITION OPENING FOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

The Human Locomotion Laboratory at UCLA is seeking talented individuals
with backgrounds in either Biomechanics, Neurophysiology, Motor Control, or
Mechanical/Electrical Engineering to work as a research associate /
laboratory technician. The primary research focus of this lab is to
understand the level of neuromuscular plasticity after neurological injury
and the neural mechanisms responsible for locomotion. We study this by
stepping individuals with spinal cord injuries on a treadmill with body
weight support and manual assistance to maintain the normal kinematics and
kinetics of walking.

Responsibilities:
Individuals will aid in data collections, data reduction and analysis. As
well individuals will be responsible for the maintenance and calibration of
the laboratory equipment. Also this position will require individuals to
update and program data acquisition and analysis software. Finally there
will be some day-to-day responsibilities including scheduling and ordering.

Qualifications:

control physiology, or engineering. A master's degree is preferred.

Applicants must have strong computer skills in a PC environment.
Experience in networking and system administration is a plus. Background
in Excel / Word is required. Experience in LabVIEW programming is highly
desirable. Also knowledge of electronics is preferred.

Applicants should have experience using the following systems; Kistler
force platforms, EMG acquisition systems, and 3-d kinematic systems.

Applicants should be interested in research and learning about all areas of
