At the Motion Lab at University hospital of Orthopedics we have an
doctoral position available.
The lab is fully equipped with a complete motion measurement system
(6 camera albavision motion system, 2 force plates, up to 32 channels of
EMG, pressure distribution, walkway and treadmill, etc.)

The position is granted by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and Freistaat
Bayern is is limited to 2 years.
Salary would vary with the mark of the last exam.

Applications are invited for a doctoral position to study human movement
with emphasis on the neuromechanical bases.
The doctoral fellow will participate in, but not limited to :
1. developing new tools for grouping patients in different catagories.
(neural networks)
2. Follow up of DMD children with different surgery procedures.
The fellow is required to work within the Motion Laboratory and
on engineering/informatics projects.
The laboratory undertakes clinical assessments of a lot of different groups:
Beginning with Cerebral Palsy children to sportsmedicine patients and sports
science problems.
The current staff conducted a series of superior research projects, funded
by national goverenment and private companies.
The successful candidate would be required to assist in the daily clinical
activities of the laboratory as well as taking an active role in research

The applicant should be willing to end his/her project within 2 years and
have the thesis written in that time.
Kind of degree is not of great importance because of a multidisciplinary
Programming skills are welcomed (Visual C+-+-, MATLAB, MATCOM). Knowledge in
biomechanics is helpful.
German speaking applicants are wellcome, but is not a must due to
multilingual team.
