The Legacy Biomechanics Laboratory is inviting applications for a research
assistant position.
We are seeking a biomedical engineer (M.S. level and/or professional
experience in biomechanical R&D) with hands-on skills and experience in
experimental design, testing, data analysis, and documentation. The
successful candidate should have a strong interest in evaluating and
advancing orthopedic treatment modalities in collaboration with surgeons.
Work tasks include conduct of basic and applied research, documentation in
from of manuscripts, testing, and personnel supervision.
The Biomechanics Laboratory is an integral part of the 65,000 square
foot Legacy Research & Technology Center and serves as a resource for basic
and applied research. Its mission is to design, test and evaluate new
treatment modalities that will advance the quality of patient care and
outcomes. It is entirely new equipment with the latest state-of-the-art
equipment, featuring:

O Inclusive research and testing capabilities, combining design,
prototyping, macro and sub-micro scale material testing, motion
analysis and finite element modeling.
O Comprehensive state-of-the-art equipment with high
cross-compatibility to industry standards
O Efficient facility layout, integrating five logistical arranged
research areas in the interdisciplinary setting at the Legacy Clinical
Research & Technology Center.
O Strong collaboration with Legacy Level I Trauma Center and
orthopedics departments.
