    Faculty Position in Exercise Science: Tenure track, academic year
    appointment at assistant or associate professor rank, State University
    of New York at Buffalo.

    Qualification: Record of scholarly accomplishments, teaching
    effectiveness and grantsmanship commensurate with rank. Doctorate
    degree with specialization in Movement Control, Biomechanics or related
    field.

    Responsibilities: Direct an independent, productive research laboratory,
    secure external funding and teach courses in Movement Control Through
    the Lifespan, Biomechanics and Science of Human Movement. Teach graduate
    courses in area of specialization, mentor graduate students and
    participate in professional and university service.

    Application Deadline: Screening of applicants will begin on April 15 and
    continue until the position is filled.

    Professional Environment: The University at Buffalo is a major public
    research university and health science center that is affiliated with
    eight hospitals in the Buffalo area. Schools of Health Related
    Professions, Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Dental Medicine, Nursing
    and Pharmacy provide a rich environment for collaborative research. The
    department has adopted a research focus that emphasizes biomechanics,
    nutrition and physiology as related to physical activity, health and
    disease, and is approached from basic, applied and clinical
    perspectives. We have active research laboratories in the areas of gait
    and posture, musculoskeletal control of movement, cardiopulmonary
    physiology, muscle plasticity, exercise nutrition, electrotherapy,
    nutritional aspects of chronic disease, and neuro-rehabilitation. The
    department offers an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science,
    professional preparation in Physical Therapy, as well as graduate
    degrees in Nutrition and in Exercise Science. We also participate in an
    interdisciplinary doctoral program in Rehabilitation Science.
