Following my announcement on 31 May of the ASME Joint Biomechanics Symposium
to be held in San Diego from July 10 through 12, 1989, Dr Torzilli kindly sent
me the full programme by FAX. While the program (85 presentations) looks most
interesting, it is a bit much for typing, so I'll confine myself to the general
