The Human Performance Laboratory of the Department of Physical Therapy,
College of Health Professions, Thomas Jefferson University, has a full-time
opening for a Director beginning in July of 2000. This gait laboratory has
served as a resource for student research and is expanding into the realms of
both funded research and clinical service. We seek a dynamic researcher with
a proven track record in grantsmanship to spearhead this advance. This
position provides an exceptional career opportunity for an innovative,
team-oriented individual experienced in patient-centered aspects of
biomechanical measurement and movement analysis. The successful candidate will
provide scientific leadership to help guide the laboratory to a position of
eminence in the field.
The Physical Therapy Department is administratively housed in the College of
Health Professions and provides an entry-level PT degree at the Master's
level. The College is part of Thomas Jefferson University, the academic
institution of the Jefferson Health System, and is located in Philadelphia,
PA. The Jefferson Health System serves southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware
and southern New Jersey in the areas of acute care, rehabilitation,
pediatrics, and home care.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in physical therapy or a related
field, along with a record of success in obtaining and managing grants in
support of clinically-oriented research. Eligibility for licensure in
Pennsylvania is required. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or full
Professor level will be commensurate with experience.
