The Group recognises that a strong R & D programme is essential for future growth and our Group Research Centre, based at the York Science Park, is responsible for researching new product concepts, processes and technologies
To further strengthen our research programme we have a vacancy for a biomechanical engineer to:
* Provide input on a variety of projects, identifying new areas for biomechanics.
* Characterise mechanical properties of biomaterials, including natural and tissue engineered cartilage and other tissues.
* Design medical implants and biomedical products.
You will have:
* A good honours degree in Materials Science or Engineering, with a PhD in Biomechanics.
* 3-5 years relevant experience, ideally in an industrial environment.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills along with the ability to take the initiative to progress work.
* A flexible approach to develop new areas of expertise, to meet the changing demands of our research programme.
