Assistant/Associate Professor in Biomechanics
Nine-month Academic Year Appointment
Qualifications: Earned doctorate with emphasis in the area of
biomechanics. Successful teaching experience, effective oral and written
communication skills, evidence of scholarly productivity including
research, publications, and grantsmanship.
Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate and graduate courses
in biomechanics and a secondary area of expertise. Conduct research in
biomechanics to include external funding support leading to publications
and recognition. Supervise graduate students in thesis preparation, serve
on graduate student committees, and prefer willingness to supervise
undergraduates in student teaching preparation.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with training and
experience. Utah State University offers an excellent benefits package.
Starting Date: August 14, 2000
Application Deadline: Review of applications will begin April 28, 2000
and continue until position is filled.
Program and Local: The Physical Education Program is located in the
Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation within an
eight-department College of Education. The HPER program includes degrees
in physical education, health, and parks and recreation. Physical
Education offers concentrations in teacher preparation, exercise science,
and pre-physical therapy. A university and community wellness center and a
large variety of lifetime skills classes make the department

Utah State University has 20,000 students and is located in the rural
setting of Logan at the base of the Wasatch Mountain Range and 82 miles
north of Salt Lake City.
The university and community provide a variety of cultural and recreational
activities. The location provides a wonderland of outdoor recreation
readily available. A number of ski resorts are located from 25 miles to 100
miles from campus.
