    Dear Colleagues,
    this is to inform you of the call for application here below. If you are
    interested in establishing some research exchange with our group or other
    groups in Bologna at Rizzoli or at the University of Bologna on topics
    related to Biocomputing, this could be a good chance.

    If you are interested, I reccomend to contact me, in quality of President
    of the Biocomputing Compentence Centre a joint effort of Istituti
    Ortopedici rizzoli, CINECA and University of Bologna, to further discuss
    this opportunity.

    MINOS Multidisciplinary INtensive computing for research activities Of
    European Scientists - Call for Candidatures

    CINECA, a consortium made up of 15 Italian universities
    (http://www.cineca.it), has been appointed, because of its large-scale
    scientific and technical facilities, as a centre for the application of
    supercomputing in interdisciplinary research activities.
    This Call for Candidatures aims at selecting European researchers who
    can spend a research period at CINECA Supercomputing Centre fully
    supported by the MINOS Project (Multidisciplinary INtensive computing
    for research activities Of European Scientists), a project funded by EC
    under the 5FP IHP (Improving Human Potential) Programme.
    Under the MINOS Project, CINECA is able to host Researchers through
    March 2003 so that European Researchers may make use of the resources
    and services here available (more info on http://minos.cineca.it).
    Disciplines covered by the multidisciplinary project are:
    Bio-technologies, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Computer Science,
    Economics, Engineering, Human Sciences, Mathematics, Physics.
    With regard to the supercomputing aspect of the project, CINECA will
    provide hosted European Researchers with training, parallel
    supercomputing facilities, access to scientific visualisation laboratory
    and to on-line information service. The Researchers will be provided
    with the support of CINECA experts for the best use of resources
    available. Hosted Researchers will be supported by the project for
    travel and accommodation expenditures too.

    Candidates are requested to fill the form available on the Web at URL

    European Union citizens of the following countries are eligible:
    Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg,
    Portugal, Spain, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Austria, Finland,
    Sweden.
    Moreover are eligible people coming from the associated countries to the
    IHP programme: Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Czech Republic, Lithuania,
    Republic of Cyprus, Norway, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Iceland,
    Slovakia, Israel, Slovenia, Latvia, Switzerland (which is expected to
    enter into force on January 2001).
