We are seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Research Engineer in the
Materials Technology section of the Research and Development department.
Position Description
This position requires identifying relevant and necessary materials
characterization testing in order to meet design, regulatory and operations
requirements. Along with a solid background in mechanics of materials, a
fundamental understanding of viscoelastic materials (polymers, elastomers
and/or tissue) as well as experimental mechanics is required. In addition
to identifying and planning appropriate testing, significant time in the lab
developing and performing experiments is required. Thus, a working
knowledge of servohydraulic testing machines, data acquisitions codes, data
reduction techniques is required.
Requirements
BS in Engineering (mechanics of materials) or Material Science with 3 years
relevant experience, or MS in Engineering (mechanics of materials) or
Material Science. Other relevant degree programs may be considered.
