I have a somewhat unusual request. I am in possession of some photocopied
tables of anthropometric data, but I have no information regarding the
original source of this information. Perhaps by some stroke of luck, one of
you will recognize what I am about to describe and can direct me towards the
source.
I have six pages of information. The only clue I have is that one of the
pages has a copyright symbol followed by "1966 HENRY DREYFUSS." Page A1
has a heading of "ANTHROPOMETRIC DATA - STANDING ADULT MALE" with a
subheading of "ACCOMMODATING 95% OF U.S. ADULT MALE POPULATION." Below the
headings are frontal view drawings of 2.5%tile, 50.%tile, and 97.5%tile
males, with each of the three drawings labeled with various lengths and
widths, primarily from joint center to joint center. Page A2 is the same as
A1, except the drawings are sagittal plane views. Page B1 is the same as A1,
and page B2 is the same as A1, except the population is adult females.
Page C is a table of data for male and female children and includes a frontal
drawing (standing) and a sagittal view drawing (sitting). Page G1 has a
heading "ANTHROPOMETRIC DATA - ADULT MALE STANDING AT CONTROL BOARD" and show
a standing adult male from the side. It includes various heights for stair
riser, stools, benches, hand rails, workbenches, wall switches, thermostats,
highest shelf, and other ergonomic measurements.
Page F has a heading of "FOOT MEASUREMENTS AND BASIC FOOT CONTROLS." Below
the heading are several schematic drawings of accelerator and brake pedals,
foot push button locations, a table of foot length, width, instep, instep
length, heel width, and ankle width, as well as a drawing titled "RIGHT FOOT
- AV. MAN" showing where the tabulated measurements are taken.
