JOB TITLE: Advanced Engineering Aide
LOCATION: Center for Locomotion Studies
Penn State University
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Design mechanical and electronic equipment for specialized research
applications. Install, maintain, and support computer software on Windows,
Mac and Unix platforms in support of the administrative and research
operations of the center Service and maintain computer hardware and
software. Provide hardware and software design services for data
acquisition and control programming. Write documentation as needed. Write
code in C++, MatLab and LabView as needed. Support and train faculty, staff
and students on advanced instrumentation systems. Develop solution and/or
suggest alternative approaches to problems. Maintain backup system and
archival services for CELOS. Implement Web pages as assigned. Implement
purchasing decisions made by technical coordinator. Give presentations to
center personnel as appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related field and one to
two years of work-related experience. Familiarity with LabView essential.
Working knowledge in at least one CAD package. Must occasionally provide
weekend or evening support, as required..
