Graduate Research Assistantship is immediately available to pursue a PhD
degree in soft tissue biomechanics at the Tulane Cartilage Laboratory of the
Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tulane University. The Assistantship
is funded by the National Science Foundation, and will continue for at least
three years starting September 1, 2000. The project will involve the
development of mathematical and computational models for articular cartilage
as well as experimental validations of the models. The candidate should
have a research interest in viscoelastic modeling of soft tissues, continuum
mechanics, and finite element modeling, and also in experiments and
instrumentations. See our TCL website at
http://www.bmen.tulane.edu/~fsuh/index.html. An interested candidate should
send his/her resume, transcripts, & name/address/phone number of 3
references to Prof. J-K. Francis Suh at the following address:
