    > DePuy is seeking a senior level research engineer. A summary of the job
    > description is listed below.

    > POSITION SUMMARY:
    >
    > Develop and manage research programs, which involve product development,
    > advanced technologies, and biomaterials. Develop detailed research plans,
    > coordinate testing and computer analysis, make recommendations in support
    > of product development and future research. Act as a technical consultant
    > to various product development groups.
    >
    > DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    >
    > * Manage research projects from initial feasibility testing through
    > final product development. This includes design, prototyping, fixturing,
    > testing, data acquisition, finite element analysis (FEA) and all
    > associated documentation.
    > * Evaluate research proposals relative to DePuy objectives and
    > business plan.
    > * Assist in the management of co-op students, lab technicians, and
    > test engineers.
    > * Develop concept ideas through design and coordinate fabrication of
    > test fixtures, test samples and sometimes test machines.
    > * Advance the utilization of available technology and equipment for
    > the research of materials and products to further R&D goals.
    > * Assist marketing, sales, quality, regulatory and clinical and
    > manufacturing groups as needed.
    > * Interface with surgeons, researchers, outside vendors and prototype
    > facilities.
    > * Prepare reports and presentations for both internal and external
    > publication.
    > * Write standard operating procedures and maintain a clean and safe
    > working environment.
    > * Stay current with advances in orthopaedic surgery, biomechanics, and
    > biomaterials.
    >
    > To qualify, a candidate should have as a minimum a Master's degree in
    > Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. A required minimum of 5
    > years experience with mechanical test equipment, research protocols, data
    > analysis, and FEA software. Excellent research, interpersonal and time
    > management skills required.
