Title: Biomechanist
Location: Frazier Institute, Louisville, KY

The Biomechanics/Motion Analysis Lab at the Frazier Institute in
Louisville, KY is accepting applications for Coordinator of its
Biomechanics/Motion Analysis Lab.
The Frazier Institute Biomechanics/Motion Analysis Lab is a
well-established lab with 8 years of experience. The clinical
evaluations include a myriad of neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Other assessments include sports performance specifically the “Swings
in Motion” golf assessment program. Most referrals come from the
Orthopedic and Hand surgeons and Physiatrists in the region. The
Biomechanics/Motion Analysis Laboratory is equipped with a 5 camera
Qualysis Motion Analysis System and a 16 channel BioPac analog to digital
system, a Kistler force platform, a 8 motion control EMG Electrodes
and an F-Scan foot pressure mapping system.
A coordinator and physical therapist currently staff the laboratory.
Primary Responsibilities
- The Coordinator will manage the clinical and research activities of
the lab, and make recommendations to administration regarding equipment,
staff, and research projects.
- Work closely with clinicians and other hospital staff on research
projects, providing advice and leadership in their design, execution,
and analysis.
- Maintain and trouble shoot all hardware and software in the lab,
evaluate clinical operations and make changes where appropriate to
enhance efficiency of lab and accuracy.
- Oversee budgetary issues and development of technology in lab.
- Annual Business Plan
- Annual Marketing & Strategic Plan
Education
- Develops lectures; teaches staff, residents, fellows, and therapist,
on a local level.
Research
- Writes and assists in writing, papers, and protocols; coordinates
studies, performs data collection and interpretation; present results
at professional meetings.
Qualifications
The qualifications for the Coordinator position include the following:
- Master’s degree required, PhD preferred
- Biomechanics, Biomechanical Engineering or related fields and have
an interest in working in sports medicine.
- Minimum of five years of experience in patient/athletic related
aspects of biomechanical measurement and analysis, resulting in
publications in peer reviewed journals.
