Bioengineer, Motion Analysis Laboratory

Children's Hospital, San Diego has an immediate opening for a highly
motivated Bioengineer in the Motion Analysis Laboratory. Established in
1974 by Dr. David H. Sutherland, the San Diego Motion Analysis
Laboratory continues to be at the forefront of gait analysis worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will take an active role in attracting research
funding in the fields of Motion Analysis and Sports Medicine.
The functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Grant writing, protocol design, literature review, experimental
design, specification, set-up, data collection and analysis.
- Participation in orthopaedic and sports related testing
- Technical support for team members and collaborators, maintenance,
troubleshooting, upgrading, and repair of all systems (hardware and
software) used in patient data collection, processing, and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Masters Degree in Bioengineering, Biomechanics, or another
engineering discipline with training in Biomechanics.
- Evidence of potential for research or a current research agenda and
successful grant writing.
- Excellent computer knowledge, to include Platforms/Networking, Windows
NT, and proficiency in at least two computer programming languages (C++,
Labview, Visual Basic, etc.)
- Experience in patient-related aspects of biomechanical measurement and
analysis with motion capture systems.
- Previous teaching and presentation experience is preferred.
