  • ISB2001: Instructions for Abstract Submission

XVIIIth CONGRESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF BIOMECHANICS
    8.-13.07.2001, ZURICH / SWITZERLAND
    http://www.isb2001.ethz.ch

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

    IMPORTANT NOTE
Abstract submission for ISB2001 at ETH Zurich is done online via the
Congress homepage only. Please note that online submission via Internet
is not equivalent to submission via email !!!
The abstract submission software supports Netscape and MS-Explorer from
version 4.x upwards. In case of problems please contact abstracts@akm.ch

    ABSTRACT LANGUAGE & CONTENT
Abstracts have to be in English. The text should include the sections
    introduction, methods, results and discussion.

    ABSTRACT LAYOUT
For online submission the layout format (character font, character size,
margins, spacing etc.) has no relevance because of a fixed input mask.

    ABSTRACT LENGTH
Abstracts must not exceed 3000 characters including blanks (about half
page DIN A4). Please use standard ASCII character set.

    FIGURES & TABLES
It is possible to add graphics to the abstract. They have to be in gif-
or jpg-format. The graphic may be no bigger than 20 KB and must not take
up more than 6 lines of normal text. The number of characters in the
abstract text has to be reduced accordingly.

    SUBMISSION PROCESS
Please prepare your text with any text editor. Agree on contact person
and order of authors, then go into the submission routine by clicking
    the proceed button.
Please follow the instructions during submission process which is
self-explanatory. First, you will have to fill in information about the
contact person. Second, you will have to name the author(s). Third, the
abstract submission form will appear, where you can choose the topic,
enter the abstract title, fill in the abstract text (e.g. with copy &
paste from your original) and add graphics. Also there you will have to
specify the preferred method of presentation. Afterwards, a summary of
your input will be displayed where changes are still possible before
    submission.
Correct abstract submission will be confirmed by email (including
reference number for the abstract). Additionally, a personal
user/password combination is emailed to the contact person which
facilitates submission of additional abstracts and revision of already
    submitted abstracts.

    ABSTRACT REVISION
Abstracts can be revised until submission deadline. Please follow the
instructions at the beginning of submission procedure after clicking the
proceed button on the Congress homepage.

    SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Submission deadline is November 15, 2000. The internet gate to the
submission routine will be closed after that date.
