Faculty Position: Neuromuscular Rehabilitative Exercise
Assistant Professor, Tenure Track
Minimum Qualifications:
· Doctoral degree from an accredited institution with central focus relevant
to the position.
· Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic,
multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to teach courses in rehabilitative exercise.
· Ability to teach courses in other areas of expertise needed in the
department.
· Educational background and experience in adapted physical education,
athletic training, or physical therapy.
· Experience working in a long-term, neuromuscular rehabilitative exercise
program for people transitioning out of medical treatment and physical
therapy.
· Ability to interface with people and agencies in local communities.
· Ability to work jointly with faculty in other departments and on other
campuses.
· Identifiable program of research in neuromuscular rehabilitative exercise.
· Ability to guide student research in areas of expertise.
· Ability to work effectively in scholarly and professional service
activities beyond the campus.
· Ability to seek external funds through grants and contracts.
Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas listed above;
develop a clinical neuromuscular rehabilitative exercise program; develop
working relationships in the surrounding community, and with other faculty;
seek external grants and contracts; supervise student interns in
rehabilitative exercise; advise students; carry out publishable scholarship;
guide student research in areas of expertise; and participate in other
service to the department, university, and community.
Rank and Salary: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track: Salary commensurate with
qualifications and experience. If unable to fill, may revert to a temporary
appointment.
