    Currently, there are two faculty positions available at the Department of
    Mechanical Engineering, the University of Texas at San Antonio. Interested
    applicants may contact the chair of the search committee for more
    information.

    ME Faculty Position Ad For Assistant Professor
    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, The University of Texas at San Antonio. Pending
    budget approval, applications are invited for one and possibly two
    tenure-track positions in Mechanical Engineering at the Assistant Professor
    level. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related
    field by May 31, 2001. Preferred qualifications: (1) teaching ability at the
    undergraduate and graduate levels (2) developing a strong program of funded
    research (3) background in one of the areas: finite elements, solid
    modeling, mechanical systems, or bio-related engineering. Responsibilities
    include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and developing a
    strong program of funded research. Successful applicants will teach courses
    offered at either the UTSA Downtown or at the 1604 Campus. Applicants who
    are not U.S. citizens must state their current visa and residency status.
    Applicants must submit a hard copy of letter of application, resume, one
    page statement of research interest, names and addresses of three references
    to: ME-1 Mechanical Engineering Search Committee Chair, College of
    Engineering, The University of Texas at San Antonio, 6900 North Loop 1604
    West, San Antonio, Texas 78249-0665. The complete applications package must
    be postmarked by January 19, 2001, for possible appointment on September 1,

    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, The University of Texas at San Antonio. Pending

    Mechanical Engineering at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
    Required qualifications for the Associate Professor level are Ph.D. in
    Mechanical Engineering or bio-related engineering and eight years of
    postgraduate experience. Required qualifications for the Professor level are
    Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or bio-related engineering and 12 years of
    postgraduate experience. Preferred qualifications for both levels are: (1)
    effective teaching ability at the undergraduate and graduate levels (2)
    developing a nationally recognized program of funded research (3)
    demonstrated experience in biomechanical engineering. Responsibilities for
    both positions include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
    and developing a strong program of funded research. Successful applicants
    will teach courses offered at either the UTSA Downtown or at the 1604
    Campus. Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must state their current visa
