    Dear listmembers,

I am looking for information for my research : I am analyzing the squat-motion with EMG. The problem is to control the initial acceleration and the final deceleration, which surely influence the EMG outcomes.
Is it sufficient to move slowly (3sec down. 3 sec up) to control the motion or is it necessary to exclude the initial 10 and final 15 degrees of motion to minimize the variability of muscle activity during both phases of the squatting phase.

Another question : Is it still common to determine the frequency of zero-crossings in the raw-EMG signal during a period of muscle activity ?

    Sincerely,
    Thorsten Rudroff
