Hi there!
I'm currently doing a MEng in Product Design Engineering at the University of Glasgow/Glasgow school of Art and am undertaking an 8 month long project to design a static balance assessment device to be used by Physiotherapists to assess the balance of patients in both the seated and standing positions.
It will be used predominantly on patients with neurological or orthopaedic difficulties, leading to abnormal balance in seating and standing.
It will be designed to offer quantitative feedback to both patient and physio and address various criteria such as;
accuracy
visual feedback
reliability
comfort
I am currently generating conceptual work looking into methods of accurate assessment-sensor technology -while offering maximum comfort .
Any assistance would be highly appreciated
