Dear Friends and Colleagues,
as you probably already know the "VIII International Symposium on Computer
Simulation
in Biomechanics" will be held in Milan, Italy, at Politecnico di Milano,
from the 4th
to the 6th of July 2001.
General Information:
This Symposium, organized by the ISB Technical Group on Computer Simulation
(TGCS),
is a satellite event of the XVIII Congress of the International Society of
Biomechanics (ISB) that takes place in Zurich, July 8-13, 2001.
Milano is easily connected with Zurich by train (4h) or by plane.
Scope
The symposium will be a scientific and technical meeting for investigators
and students in
all areas of computer simulation in biomechanics, especially: human
movement, motor control,
and robotics related to biomechanics.
The social part of the symposium is planned to favor the contacts among the
participants,
to share different experiences and to organize joint projects.
Symposium format
Following the tradition of the TGCS symposia, each presenter, after the oral
presentation,
has the opportunity to give an interactive demonstration of the software
produced.
In order to facilitate the debate (avoiding parallel sessions) only a
limited number of
about 30-40 selected papers will be accepted for presentation. Priority will
be given to
papers accompanied by a computer demonstration.
In order to encourage young scientists, also in this edition of the
symposium an award for
a young investigator will be assigned in memoriam of Andrzey Komor.
Accommodation
It is possible to all participants to accommodate in the same hotel, located
in the center
of Milan, at special price (reasonable for the city's standards). However,
the full number
of rooms will be held in reserve for limited time, thus an early reservation
is recommended.
Important Dates
Short abstract submission(one page) deadline: February 10th, 2001
Notification of acceptance: February 28th, 2001
Early registration deadline: April 15th, 2001
Final paper (4-6 pages) deadline: May 15th, 2001
Congress dates July 4th- 6th, 2001
