  • Assistant Professor, Motor Control / Neuroscience

Assistant Professor, Motor Control / Neuroscience. York University, Toronto,
    Ontario.
Applications are invited to a tenure-track appointment at the
Assistant Professor level in motor control physiology. We are particularly
interested in individuals working on various aspects of the central control
of movement, possibly with clinical/health-related applications. The
successful applicant is expected to develop a productive, externally-funded
research programme. Ph.D. (or equivalent) and a promising publication
record in refereed journals are required, with postdoctoral experience
highly desired. Duties will include undergraduate teaching, and teaching
and supervision in the Graduate Programme in Kinesiology and Health Science.
The School is interdisciplinary (see www.yorku.ca/kahs/) and we are
currently seeking approval for doctoral accreditation by September 2001.
Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a covering letter stating future
research goals, 3 relevant reprints and the names, addresses and telephone
numbers of 3 individuals who may act as references by January 31, 2001, to:
Dr. E. Cafarelli, School of Kinesiology and Health Science, Bethune College,
York University, 4700 Keele Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M3J 1P3. We
prefer a starting date of July 1, 2001 but this is open to negotiation.

For many years, York University has had a policy of employment equity including
affirmative action for women faculty and librarians. Recently, York has
included racial/visible minorities, persons with disabilities and aboriginal
peoples in its affirmative action program. Persons who are members of one
or more of these three groups are encouraged to self identify during the
selection process. Please note that candidates from these three groups will
be considered within the priorities of the affirmative action program only
if they self identify. The School of Kinesiology and Health Science
welcomes applications from women, racial/visible minorities, persons with
disabilities and aboriginal peoples. The affirmative action program can be
found on York's web site at
www.yorku.ca/secretariat/legislation/u_pol.index.htm or a copy can be
obtained by calling the affirmative action office at (416) 736-5713.

Please respond to Dr. E. Cafarelli as indicated and not to the sender of the
    email.
