CALL FOR PAPERS
DEADLINE: January 5th, 2001
CARS 2001 Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery
15th International Congress and Exhibition
June 27-30, 2001
ICC Berlin, Germany
CARS is the premier annual international meeting of experts on new
developments in computer assisted medical tools and applications. This
conference concentrates on advances in medical imaging, health care
networking, surgical robotics and instrumentation, and related imaging
based technologies. CARS now includes the electronic medical record (EMR)
and access management, with collaboration between all healthcare parties,
including the patient.
Progress in specific computer assisted techniques (e.g. digital imaging,
computer aided diagnosis, image guided surgery, MEMS, etc.) combined with
computer assisted integration tools (e.g. PACS, EMR, middleware, Internet,
telemedicine, etc.) is reported at CARS. Physicians describe the use of PACS
and telemedicine systems as enabling infrastructures for improving quality
of and access to healthcare. Tools based on CAD and CAS are introduced by
scientists and engineers at CARS.
To ensure that these tools benefit the patient, collaboration between
various disciplines, specifically radiology, surgery, engineering,
informatics and healthcare management is a critical factor. The federation
of societies and congresses of CARS 2001 (ISCAS, EuroPACS, CMI, CAD, CVI,
SMIT and CAR) provides the necessary cooperative framework for advancing the
development and application of modern computer assisted technologies in
healthcare.
Topics for CARS 2001 include:
· Medical Imaging including CT, MR, US, SPECT, PET, DR, Molecular
Imaging, and Virtual Endoscopy
· Image Processing and Display
· Medical Workstations
· Image Guided Surgery and Radiation Therapy
· Telemedicine
· Expert Systems and Computer Assisted Education
· Economic, Social and Management Issues
· Image Management and Communication (IMAC) in Pathology,
Dermatology, Ophtamology, Internal Medicine, etc.
· Inter- and Intrahospital IMAC
· IMAC Health Care Infrastructures for In-home Care
· E-health and Multimedia EPR
5th Annual Conference of the International Society for Computer Aided
Surgery - ISCAS
19th International EuroPACS Meeting
7th Computed Maxillofacial Imaging Congress - CMI
3rd International Workshop on Computer-Aided Diagnosis - CAD
International Symposium on Cardiovascular Imaging - CVI
13th International Conference of the Society for Medical Innovation and
Technology - SMIT
Please note that the deadline for paper and poster submissions for CARS 2001
is approaching soon. We invite you to submit an abstract to CARS 2001 on
