    Assistant/Associate Professor of Biomechanics
    Director of Research


    The School of Graduate Medical Sciences at Barry University is seeking
    applicants for a faculty position in biomechanics. The School offers degree
    programs in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (DPM) and a Master of Clinical
    Medical Science (M.C.M.Sc.) and a Physician Assistant Certificate through
    the Physician Assistant Program. Additionally, the School of Graduate
    Medical Sciences has recently established the Center for Applied
    Biomechanics and Motion Analysis. The Center is equipped with
    three-dimensional gait analysis equipment designed for both clinical and
    research applications.

    Applicants should have a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering,
    biomechanics, kinesiology or related field with an interest in the study of
    human movement. Candidates will be expected to head the Center for Applied
    Biomechanics and Motion Analysis and further develop it as a clinical gait
    analysis laboratory in conjunction with the podiatric physicians on staff
    and as a research center for the School. Candidates are also expected to
    contribute to the education of students through teaching the Basic Research
    Methods course. Additional administrative duties will encompass supervising
    research projects within the school and assisting faculty, residents and
    students with individual research projects including design and statistical
    analyses. Expertise with high-speed video motion capture systems is
    required along with knowledge of biomechanical instrumentation.
    Demonstrated ability to secure extramural funds is beneficial.
