    Graduate Research Assistantship available for 4 years:

    Starting Summer or Fall 2001

    Area: motor control

    One graduate research position at the Ph.D. level is available for an industrious student to work in the area of behavioral neuroscience focusing on motor control. Various areas of research are open for the student interested in the neural control of movement from the perspective of self-organizing nonlinear dynamical systems: e.g. bimanual coordination, multijoint single limb coordination, reaching and grasping, and shifts in posture during the sit-to-stand transition. Available research equipment includes an OPTOTRAK 3020 camera system for collection of kinematic data, 64 channels A/D capability, two 6 channel force plates, a four channel EMG amplifier and a variety of other specialized tools.
