Post-Doctoral and/or Visiting Researcher Positions at the University of
    Notre Dame

The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of
Notre Dame has two immediate openings for post-doctoral researchers or
visiting research scientists in the area of orthopedic implants with a
background in polymer science and/or composites. (Further experience with
biomaterials and bioengineering is desirable but not required.) Successful
candidates will develop the next generation of orthopedic implants working
closely with engineers and scientists at Zimmer, Inc., one of the world's
leading manufacturers of orthopedic implants. Funded jointly by Zimmer and
the State of Indiana 21st Century Development Fund, this is an exciting
project intended to bring a new technology in orthopedics to the market.
Appointments will be for one year with the option of renewal for successive
    years.

The University of Notre Dame is a top-20 national research university
located in South Bend, Indiana, a short drive from the Chicago area, with an
enrollment of about 11,000 students. Facilities are extensive and include
up-to-date computational capabilities and diverse materials testing and
characterization facilities. Geographically, Notre Dame is the closest
national research university to Warsaw, Indiana, the world's largest
concentration of orthopedic implant manufacturers, and this research project
involves close collaboration with researchers there.

Prospective post-doctoral researchers and visiting scientists are invited to
    contact either:
