Hours: 37 Hours/Week
Grade: B17-22 (depending on experience)
Salary: L27,529 - L33,493

Are you a highly motivated, methodical, team leader with excellent inter-personal skills and experience in gait analysis or biomechanics? Are you interested in working within a thriving multi-disciplinary team on clinical gait assessment and innovative research in the largest Regional Rehabilitation Centre in the country?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Scientist/Engineer in the Clinical Measurements Laboratory. The laboratory provides interpretation of scientific motion analysis data for the Prosthetic, Orthotic & General Medical services within the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, and external Orthopaedic, Neurological and Paediatric departments. Formal research links with Birmingham University are currently being established. The laboratory is fully equipped with a VICON 512 120/240Hz 8 Camera Motion Capture System, in-house synchronised Video Vector System, Novel PEDAR Plantar Pressure Insole System, and Woodway Rehabilitation Treadmill.
The successful candidate will hold an Engineering honours degree, ideally a Biomedical Engineering/Medical Physics MSc, and must be eligible for Chartered Status and State Registration. A minimum of six years experience is required in one or a combination of the following areas: biomechanics, medical electronics, physiological measurement, and computing. The applicant must be able to demonstrate sound management skills, and be comfortable projecting service developments. Experience in running formal research and development projects is essential, ideally with a proven track record in successful research grant applications. Further experience in teaching/lecturing, and abstract/journal submissions would be an advantage.
