  • MCP flexor

    Hello,

I am working on building an anthropomorphic robotic finger with tactile
sensors. I have been doing research on the mechanics of the hand and am
trying to find out what muscles/tendons are considered the primary flexors
of the metacarpo-phalangeal joint (specifically for the index finger). I
have read some conflicting arguments and others tend to regard the subject
    a bit vaguely.
I know there is alot of redundancy involved, but I wanted
to describe my robot in terms of human musculature. Only one of its
actuators controls the flexion and extension of the artificial MCP
    through
bidirectional cables. Therefore, I really only want to designate one
muscle for the flexion. I have compared the cable for extension to the
    extensor communis digitorum.

    Thank you.
