THE THIRTEENTH ANNUAL ELECTROMYOGRAPHY: FINE-WIRE TECHNIQUE COURSE.

The Motion Analysis Laboratory at Children's Hospital, San Diego is pleased
to announce that our 13th Annual EMG: Fine-Wire Technique Course is being
held on October 19-20, 2001.
Chaired by Dr. David Sutherland and with a guest faculty including Dr.
Richard Lieber, this unique 2-day course is designed for physicians and
physical therapists interested in learning correct insertion techniques in
fine-wire electromyography. The course will:
- provide hands-on experience in fine-wire electrode insertion
- provide an understanding of EMG instrumentation and hands-on experience in
hardware use
- review cross-sectional and surface anatomy for accuracy in electrode
placement
- review muscle and nerve physiology, as it relates to EMG
Each participant will insert 7 electrodes, confirm placement with electrical
stimulation, act as a subject for insertions, and operate the EMG and
stimulation equipment.
**** Proof of physician or physical therapist licensure and liability
insurance is required. Liability insurance can be arranged through
Children's Hospital, San Diego, if the process is started 2 months prior to
the course. ****
ACCOMMODATIONS:
A block of rooms is being held at the Doubletree Hotel in San Diego's
Mission Valley. Please request the group rate for Children's Hospital EMG

Hospital, San Diego and shuttles will be provided between the hotel and the
Lab.
TUITION FEE:
The fee for the Electromyography: Fine-Wire Technique Course is U.S.$800.00,
to include course materials, CME certification, continental breakfasts,
lunches, and breaks.
To reserve space, a non-refundable deposit of U.S.$100.00 is required for
the course. Cancellations must be received by September 21, 2001 to avoid
full course charge.
