  • why are GRF curves asymmetric?

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a query.

The spring-mass model of locomotion predicts that vertical
ground reaction force curves should be symmetrical with
peak force occurring at 50 % of stance. However, we've
repeatedly obtained curves with the peak occurring at about 45 %
of stance. Does anyone know why this happens, or of any
studies that have investigated what factors influence GRF
    symmetry?

    Thanks
