Postgraduate Research Studentship in Hand Biomechanics
The project will relate the motions of the hand to an underlying model
and study the contribution of different digits to everyday actions.
The study will include a comparison with some hand impairments and
disabilities, for example the use of artificial hands or finger joints.
The student will have to work with both clinicians and patients, and it
will be an opportunity to become involved in clinical studies of hand
rehabilitation.
Candidates should hold, or expect to obtain First or II(i) Honours
degree, in Engineering (control, mechanical, computer science or
electrical) and a good command of English.
