BIOMECHANICS_BIOMATERIALS
Research Assistant Grade 1B
in the Department of MATERIALS & MEDICAL SCIENCES
of CRANFIELD UNIVERSITY
at Shrivenham, UK
We seek to recruit a graduate to work in an exciting biomedical
engineering project in conjunction with 2 major NHS hospitals and the
automotive industry.
Theme: the project is to investigate the mechanical properties of bones
with invasive and non-invasive methods to determine useful parameters,
which may enable the automotive industry improve safety standards and
reduce the risk of fatal car accidents.
Eligibility: the post is open to EU nationals, with background in
either APPLIED SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, PHYSICS, MATERIALS, or closely
related subjects; who posesss or expect to obtain a good honours degree
(either 1st, or 2i, or a 2ii and MSc). The graduate will be given the
option to also register for a PhD.
Duration: 3 years (Interviews will be held at the end of August 2001
and the start date is October 2001)
Salary: approx. £16k.
