I am doing research for a forthcoming Simon & Schuster book on
osteoarthritis that Dr. Bob Arnot (NBC) is writing.
I was wondering if I might get some assistance with quadriceps strength
testing recommendations?

-What is considered the gold standard quadriceps strength test? (isokinetic?)
-Is there a more practical measure that one might use that doesnt require
high tech equipment?
-Also is there a simple (doesnt have to be real accurate) self assesment for
quadriceps strength that a lay person might be able to do? (step down test,
single legged hop test?)

Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated
