    Postgraduate Studentship

We are pleased to announce the availability of a 3 year EPSRC CASE
postgraduate studentship to study for PhD in biomechanics. The studentship
is further supported by DePuy International (a Johnson and Johnson Company).
The successful student will join our interdisciplinary research team to
study the biomechanics of the shoulder. In particular, we are looking for
someone interested in developing further our interactive model of the
    shoulder complex.

The successful applicant will have a good honours degree (First Class or
Upper Second) in Engineering, Physics or a related subject. The studentship
is open to UK students. EU nationals may apply, but can receive only part

The Centre for Rehabilitation and Engineering Studies (CREST) is an
interdisciplinary research group within the Faculties of Engineering and
Medicine. The current research portfolio is concentrated on upper limb
biomechanics and associated aspects of neurological disability, particularly
spasticity. The research is funded by Research Councils, European Union,
Charities and Industry. There is a well equipped biomechanics laboratory in
the Engineering Building and a small clinical laboratory based in Hunters
Moor Hospital, our major clinical partner.
