    Professional Opportunity:

    Biomedical Engineer - Cleveland FES Center & Case Western Reserve University

    The Cleveland FES Center at Case Western Reserve University is looking for
    a full-time biomedical engineer to join a dynamic multidisciplinary
    research team investigating lower extremity application of functional
    electrical stimulation (FES) for standing, transfers, walking and control
    of seated posture after spinal cord injury (SCI). Major responsibilities
    include ongoing project management and conduct of ongoing clinical trials,
    technology evaluation and transfer, biomechanical data collection and
    analysis, and regulatory reporting and compliance. The Biomedical Engineer
    will coordinate the surgical implementation, laboratory testing and
    follow-up evaluation of implanted FES systems including the specification,
    production and distribution of new technology and receipt of performance
    data in multicenter clinical trials. Familiarity with methods of gait and
    posture analysis, dynamometry and other biomechanical measurements, and
    laboratory electronic instrumentation is desired. Qualified candidates
    should posses a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related
    discipline and prior research or project management experience. Good
    interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated
    organizational abilities are needed for collaborative teamwork with
    clinicians, researchers and users of the experimental
    neuroprostheses. Expertise in Matlab/Labview programming, electrical
    stimulation after spinal cord injury, rehabilitation outcomes and data
    collection with human volunteers in clinical settings is a plus. Salary
